There Is Death In The Pot…

We are living in a generation that is controlled by greed, self-centeredness and greed. And because of this people take short cuts in the processes needed to prepare good quality food. There is a need to be wise and discerning when it comes to what yo

u eat and which restaurants you visit. Do not be fooled to think that all restaurants and manufacturers of food are interested in your well-being. I worked as a waiter many years ago and what I learnt could be written in a book.

Understandably the owners of these manufacturing plants and restaurants need to survive

Death in your food

from a business perspective but some of the measures they implement are based on their greed. They use poisonous ingredients, they take short cuts, they use expired products and the list goes on and on. Often all this is under the watchful eye of the authorities that are supposed to be protecting the public. But money can handle that side of things so they turn a blind eye on violations. This is of course until someone dies then investigations are done.

To illustrate my point clearly let me tell you a story that happened a few years ago. I was hosting some international guests and we took them for br

eakfast at a high-end restaurant in Sandton where the breakfast ranged at about R200 an orange juice was about R60 (by the way this was 2009). On hearing us speak a foreign language the waiter greeted us in the same language and a friendly conversation broke out for a minute or so. Then he said if you want to live healthy please don’t eat from the buffet order freshly cooked food from the menu. So I asked him why. I already knew the answer but I wanted to hear this from him. His answer was in line with my thoughts. The eggs are several days old, the sausage can last up to two weeks just like the baked beans and liver… the list went on and on. We just freeze what’s left over and defrost for the next breakfast. The chef may add a few ingredients to create a sense of freshness but I would not be surprised if there is an unlucky sausage from a month ago that just never got picked.

Because I travel a little bit and have to stay in hotels I am not a big fan of their food I am selective about what I order but above all I am prayerful about it. As believers we need to be wise and walk in our covenant promises.

“And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall

bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfill.” Exodus 23:25-26 KJV

As a tither you have a right to divine protection. God has promised to bless you bread and water,

as this is the main source of disease an

d ailments. We are reaping from the stories of the cold meat companies that made a few “mistakes” that have cost people’s lives. Now there is the KFC scare going around with people in ICU because of poisoning. When will we learn as human being to really trust God and do what He says and not turn to the left or the right but follow His Word? How many dead bodies should we have before we take God seriously? Unfortunately man only changes when they learn enough to change or hurt enough to change.

Indeed like the Bible says “there is death in the pot” we need a man of God to give us a solution and the solution is obey the Lord, follow the voice of the Holy Spirit and He will show where not to go. The scripture above infers the miscarriages and short lives are also a product of our eating. Be wise in choosing your food and you will live long

Live according to the covenant of God and He will take care of the stuff that is beyond you. Don’t buy junk food and bless it hoping to change the chemical composition of the food. This is called foolishness. When you see there is death in the pot, go to a different pot. Service providers that don’t care about your wellbeing don’t deserve your money.

“And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets. And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not. So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof. But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.” 2 Kings 4:38-41 KJV

When the circumstances are beyond you God will do a miracle but the rest of the time be wise and avoid the death. Activate your faith for divine protection; claim your rights as a child of God. Claim your right to healing and health and long life. God is faithful and He will watch over his Word. Do not live in fear. Live in wisdom, the just shall live by his faith.

God bless you
